SEINFELD! 20 year anniversary of final episode

My AJC  published illustration for the final episode of Seinfeld in 1998  was , at the time, my biggest assignment to date (since 1980) as staff illustrator at the AJC (I still have the original watercolor) Art director at the time was the brilliant D..W. Pine (now TIME magazine art director since the early 2,000s?)

Here’s the amazing part of the story. D.W., a Seinfeld expert as well as a brilliant and super nice guy, easy to work with, advised me on each character in the painting since I had never viewed a single  episode of  Seinfeld (except 5 minute snippets in the newsroom- I didn’t have a TV and when i wasn’t in the newsroom, I was on the river or running)
